TDS Calculator

TDS under the new Act — with the old section you still think in.

From 1 April 2026 the 194-series is retired: salary TDS sits in Section 392 and everything else in the Section 393 table of the Income-tax Act, 2025. This calculator answers the three questions that matter — does TDS apply at all, at what rate, and by when to deposit — and shows the new reference beside the familiar old section on every result.

The corresponding provision of the ITA 2025 applies to Tax Year 2026-27 defaults.

Common questions

What happened to Section 194C after the Income-tax Act 2025?

From 1 April 2026 the 194-series is consolidated: salary TDS under Section 392 and all other payments in the Section 393 table with payment codes. Rates and thresholds are unchanged — contractor payments remain 1%/2% with ₹30,000 single / ₹1,00,000 annual thresholds.

What is the TDS rate on rent for F.Y. 2026-27?

10% for land or building and 2% for plant and machinery, where rent exceeds ₹50,000 per month. Individuals not under tax audit paying rent above ₹50,000/month deduct 2% once a year under the erstwhile 194-IB route.

What is the interest for late deposit of TDS?

1% per month or part from the date tax was deductible to deduction, and 1.5% per month or part from deduction to deposit, counted by calendar months. The estimator tab computes it the way TRACES does.
